The Red Sea has been described as the Greenwich Bar without the plush couches. But if you never went to the old Greenwich before it closed down, think funky red carpet, discreet booths and quirky projected images next to the dance floor. The clientele at the Red Sea is always very suave, thanks to a strict door policy, but it's never pretentious. The DJs generally play crowd pleasing tunes without resorting to commercial tunes so clubbers can look forward to a menagerie of cutting edge tracks and disco classics. For those not keen on squeezing onto the always busy dance floor then there is an array of booths or bar space to chill out and enjoy a drink.

Ess Bar
situated within
the Subiaco Village on Hay Street offers a vibrant
alternative to the Subiaco bar and restaurant scene.
Ess Bar was fully refurbished
in December 2006 to reflect the more sophisticated needs of
Subiaco. The fit out was based on Melbourne and Sydney bars
and offers a contemporary multi use venue with an open and
relaxed atmosphere.
Ess Bar is fully
air-conditioned and incorporates three main areas: the
dining room, chill out lounge bar and snug/function room.
The dining
area seats up to 100 guests, offering booths and quality
tables and chairs for ala carte or tapas style dining.
The lounge
provides tables, couches and low modern "poufee" seating.
This area is cleared on Friday's and Saturday's to provide
room for bands such as Peace, Love & All That Stuff, Dr
Bogus, and Back Beat to play in.
The fully
air-conditioned function room provides the perfect setting
for hen’s nights, birthdays, meetings and presentations. It
can cater for 40 seated guests or can be used for cocktail
style stand up gatherings for up to 80 guests.
The
Ess Bar has been acoustically designed to
maximise the internal sound quality while minimising sound
effects to the local environment.
The
Ess Bar is open 7 days a week, 11am till
late.

This selective bar has a soft spot for A-list designer crowds. Discover the elaborate cocktail list and the indoor pond.
All in all it's a chic bar, but its street facade is not nearly as showy. Onyx Bar is actually set beneath a plain, run-of-the-mill office building facade. Inside, clued-up bartenders are attentive and speedy. Cocktails are the drink of choice, and caipiroskas are particularly popular. Fridays revolve around live rock sounds, as well as soul, funk and house fusions. Meanwhile, Saturdays blend up acid jazz with house and R&B.
